Current Work: Spring Thaw

These untitled works were born while caring for my dying mother, a period that forced a re-evaluation of my life and creative practice. Witnessing her defense mechanisms drop as she neared death inspired me to dismantle my own veneer through paint, leading me to a process rooted in décollage.
My pieces evolve through layers of intuitive improvisation buried beneath a muted exterior repeated. By sanding back these top layers, I dig down through the paint to expose the raw truths of an interior world.

Assemblage
Objects sometimes communicate their history, that, combined with imagery, tells a story. A frying pan, cookie sheet, fungus clump, shredded bark, an envelope and a prescription insert directed my thoughts to create the following work for Imploding Meaning, curated by Monica Church, at
